Silver Compass Necklace, handmade in solid sterling silver

I carefully hand cut, form, and solder solid sterling silver .925 to create a case around a tiny working compass. A small silver lid swivels open to reveal the compass within.

The pendant is approximately 3/4" in diameter and hangs on a 24" .925 solid sterling silver chain with a lobster claw clasp.

This is a high quality compass.
This compass has a corrosion resistant brass body with black enamel finish. The dial swings freely, and has luminescent dots indicating north and south. Approximately 5/8" diameter. Extremely compact and robust construction.

Note: Check your local magnetic declination at the US Geological Survey to see the variance between true north and magnetic north before using the compass.
I hand make the solid silver housing for the compass from scratch. The compass itself is the commercial version of the NATO issue item.

Each piece is crafted one at a time by hand. They are wearable works of art.
